今年のハロウィンはめっちゃやばかった！やっとこのわけわかんないコスプレ祭りがおもっきり日本の文化に入ってきた。（３１日のもりあがっていたアメ村はその現象の証拠になるぐらい）イベントやパーティが多過ぎて、この三日だけの最高なアートギャラリーも見逃しやすいから気をつけなきゃ。
Halloween in Osaka was pretty mad this year – if ever any proof was needed that the big H is now an official Japanese holiday in both spirit and practice, Amemura on the 31st was it! But amid all those crazy costumes and parties, you might have missed out on an amazing 3 day art show put on over at Psychowheels.

友達から電話あって、ぎりぎり間に合った！仕事の後チャリでダッシュにいってみた。
I nearly did – A good friend of mine alerted me just hours before the final curtain and I huffed it over on my bike as fast as I could to soak up the last few moments of PAINT IT BLACK 3rd. (As the name implies, it’s the 3rd annual installment of said gallery.)

カスタムカルチャーの影響されているアーティスト二人、WAREとGRIMB。
One Sculptor and One Painter – WARE (madsculptures) and GRIMB respectively, put on a true Krazy Kustom Kulture show with a unique Japanese twist!

Psychowheelsの隣の部屋にギャラリーが出来ていた。WAREのフィギュアモデルは綺麗にピンストされた飾り棚の中に飾られていて、GRIMBの絵はチェーンでかけられて、すごいかっこよかったぁ！二人の力を合わせられてめっちゃ迫力あった。
The gallery was set up in a cleared out and renovated storage space next to the shop. The two artists work really play well off each other and form a nice cohesive whole. WARE’s sculptures were housed in beautiful pinstriped cabinets interspersed with GRIMB’s nice hand-painted panels hung by hooks and chains.

細かいところまで本当に上手く彫られていて、丁寧に塗られていた！てかったいる脳みそ、エド・ロス風なモンスター等はよかったけど一番気に入っていたやつはやっぱりチンコまんじのヒトラーやった！ギャラリーの目玉になったゎ！
I was blown away by the detail in the lacquered brains, fez donning monkeys, and hotrodding monsters but really, it was the Hitler bust surrounded by a swastika of pink phallic penises that definitely stole the show.

Though the Paint it Black show was all too short, Psychowheels still has a nice collection of paintings, drawings, and figures permanently on display in their shop. If you’re in south Horie/Sennichimae, do yourself a favor and check em out! (more photos on those guys’ respective blogs linked above!)

仕事が終わったらちょっと町を回って、酔っぱらいのハロウィンコスをチェックしょうと思った。
Then it was off to see the local drunks for everyone’s favorite holiday – come-out-of-the-closet-without-consequences day.

アメ村のピザ・カフェのSLICESにてギャラリーを行なってる！今回はタトゥーの写真、いろんなジャンルの作品をだしてみてる！１０月２７日のHalloweenイベントが終わってからかるくオープンした。来月（１１月）の２７日までしてるので是非遊びに来て！１１月１０日は「2回目のオープニングパーティ」なので、Halloweenの時行けなかった人はまだまだ見る機会があるよ！セカンドパーティの為、新作品を追加するのでお楽しみに！

Beginning on Halloween party night after all those events on October 27th, I opened a small art gallery at Slices Cafe in Amemura! Lots of tattoo photos and (as the flyer sez) “works in various mediums” this time around. For those who missed the fun the first time around we’ll be having a second opening on the 10th of November featuring a few new pieces – you’ve got until November 27th to come on down so don’t miss it!

相変わらずミナミのHalloweenイベントが多すぎて、楽しすぎたけどOnziemeで行なったHijakのHalloweenパーティはやっぱり最高だった！マスカレードスタイルなのでゲストの全員は顔が見えないようにマスクをかけていた。めっちゃおもてぇぃ〜。今年は何故か女装無しで、みんなすみません！

Minami was chock full of crazy parties and events as is typical fare for Osaka – but the Hijak party topped them all! Everything was masquerade style so there was plenty of opportunity for pranking and mischief. Look at this heavy freaking thing I walked around with all night! And what’s that you say? No more dresses? Yep, despite winning several contests over the past few years I decided to hang up the skirts and go relax in manly fashion. Nobody seemed all that disappointed!

今年、久しぶりにイベントにでて、ライブペイントをした！ステージの上にのっていたのにめっちゃ暗くて全く見えなかった！なんとなく「髑髏」を描けた気がするけど。あまり厳しく言わんといてな。

My first “live painting” gig in a couple months. Despite being on stage it was super dark so I stuck with familiar subject matter (oh human skull, is there any drawing you can’t save?)

Well, Hanshin lost this year, but I made a victory stencil for them anyway. Please note my irresponsible misappropriation of the Kamikaze pilot and the cry of “Tora Tora Tora.”

阪神は負けたけど優勝記念ステンシルを作っちゃった。多分タブーやけど勝手に神風のパイロットの絵を使って、戦争のかわり、「阪神虎」のため、虎虎虎を入れました。どう？ぼこぼこされるかな。右翼外人は珍しいな！

Ba- of InfumiyaKumiai fame even swapped me a parka to spray it on (Thanks!) My second Kansai winter should be much warmer than the last! In turn, he did a few “special edition” parkas for the shop. I swear, nothing beats spontaneous creativity. You just can’t duplicate the warm feel of quality one-of-a-kind custom items. Who knows – maybe you’ll see it around Minami!

In Japan, going in black-face for Halloween isn’t really a social taboo (as long as you don’t run into any offended parties on your way to the costume ball) but I don’t have any pictures yet to prove that Novu actually did it this year! It might have just been an OD on Atmosphere’s new album, but here was my take on it this year. Behold the half-arsed “costume” that almost was – until even more culturally offensive aesthetics prevailed. Us whitey’s is eatin’ up hip-hop like it was May-yo-naze!

アメリカには、黒人のコスをするのはちょっとタブーだけど日本にはその決まりは全くないらしい。証明の写真はないけど今年そういうコスをやっている人もおって、めっちゃショックだった！Atmosphere（俺の出身のヒップホップ）の新規アルバムを聞き過ぎか分からないけどとりあえず、こういうコスをやってみようと思った！結局、もっと社会に対して失礼な奴が出来たけど「死んでいるラッパー」のもよかったかもな！

わいわい！ハロウィンはとうとうきた！今年ずっと楽しみにしていた！クリスマスよりも倍ぐらい楽しい祭りや！っつーか、クリスマスはなんや？！もう２５歳超えてしまったから俺には関係ないぞう！やっぱハロウィンは最高！！！一年に一日だけ男は自由に好きな女の服を着てもいい日やで！たしかに、俺の一番最初の女装もハロウィンだったな〜。初ブラジャーなつかしいぃぃ！（妹からぱくった… すみません！）女装が好き男達よ！恥ずかしがらず、おまえの変態ファンタシーを現実にせよ！

今年のコスは日本の女が好きそうなWHITE DEVILや。しっぽが見えへんけどちゃんとあるよ！メーク、コス、いろいろDawnちゃんありがとう！

PS (屯より）一年に一度だけと言わず、いつでもやらしたる！キリストはベンの国からきたんちゃうか？一年中ハロウィンやらしたるからな！安心しておけ！

It’s Halloween! The one day out of the year men can indulge their intimate fantasies to dress as women that Christianity has made so much effort to surpress… Thanks for your efforts crusaders, but in the words of a witch: “Be gone! You have no power here!” Men, follow your hearts and strap on your bras! Actualize your inner pervert unashamedly before god and Man!

This year’s costume almost netted me the prize of 50,000 yen – if only I hadn’t been so distracted by Estonian underwear models in the next room. After all the bars, stripshows, and clubs, I managed to make it back home alive with all my props intact.

Thanks again for doing my makeup Dawn!… and for the wig… and for the outfit… and everything else.

Whakabachaou! Come to Chop after dark sometime and you too could be on the receiving end of 2 dull katana! Still no horrifying pictures from Sam and Rock – so for the last two people on earth who haven’t seen me in sailor fuku: you’ll just have to wait a little while longer. Which begs the question: what to wear for Halloween? I sure as hell hope somebody has an idea! I have at least 6 events to hit, so if you come by Sam’s, Pure, Rock Rock, or Black Veil, you might just see me… that is, if we can recognize each other.

If you’ve got any costume ideas, now’s the time to throw them out!

Here’s the new flyer for Rock Rock in November! These days I concentrate on my tattooing pretty heavily, but sometimes it’s still fun to break away and to a drawing or a painting. This was probably the biggest digital painting I ever did in Painter before – thankfully it will be printed on A6 and save me the embarrassment of any details I messed up on! Oh yeah, in case you didn’t know – here’s a reminder: Rock Rock’s big 10th anniversery is coming up in December! Yoko, Seiji, Novu, are you guys gonna survive until 2006?! Try to stay sober at least one day that month!

ロックロックの１１月チラシの表紙やぁ！最近彫物を必死に集中しているけどたまに絵を描く時間を作らないといけないね。Painterで描いたやつの中にはめっちゃ大きくて細かい！まだそんなにうまく塗れへんけどちょっと慣れてきたかも。サイズはA6だから失敗したら多分誰も気づかへんと思う。ところで、ロックロックの１０周年やぁ！陽子さん、せいじさん、ノヴさん、２００６年までにいけますか！？頑張って！

今日は久しぶりにビッグニュース：作品は美術関係の雑誌にでた！自分のジーン意外のは初めてや。スペーンのベリオっていう雑誌は毎回違うテーマで、参加者はそのテーマについて絵を描く。今回のトピックは「宗教」や。この絵がのてた。次の話題は：不思議な国のアリスだ！ええなぁ！でもイラストレーターやパソコンのかわりちゃんとペィンティングでいこう！皆さん、ちょこちょこみてね！

まだ９月だけどもうハロウィンの事を楽しみぃ！時間はあまりないけどPureとRockRockの１０月イベントの為、フラヤーのイラストを描いた。今年のハロウィンイベントは６件ぐらいもある、たしかに。もちろんわくわくしているけどコスを選ぶのは大変や！おすすめはない？

Well, it’s official: I’m published… and not just cos’ I defrauded Kinko’s again. This quarter’s issue of Spanish Art MagazineBelio features work from your’s truly. The piece in question is a fairly early illustration and frankly a little embarrassing – especially in comparison to all the other talent in this issue! Their theme was religion, which is a nice broad topic… you may have seen the piece I used somewhere before!

Halloween makes me masochistic for work – so here’s two simple pieces I did for Pure and RockRock (respectively) for their upcoming Halloween celebrations. This year, I think there’s at least 6 events that require attendance… the only question is naturally, what to wear?… Let me know what you think:
