UPDATE: LDSのだ！これ！

Some are already calling it “The Perfect Storm” of a product. Local Osaka ex-pat tattooist Benny, known to be a fan of illustrator Coop, a loyal reader of the blog boingboing, and an aficionado for hot Girls in Overalls ^(tm) finally completed the ultimate trifecta by purchasing a T-shirt containing elements of all three.

When pressed for comments by local media, Benny was able to respond with little more than unintelligible “Zuh’s” and “Guh’s.” Approximately 8 hours later, once the shirt was forcibly removed for laundry, Benny was once again composed enough to speak. “I don’t believe in an interventionist god, so I can’t call it a miracle. Still, I have a hard time accepting this shirt’s existence as only a coincidence. To all those responsible for it’s inception and execution, I thank you.”

Is this T-shirt perhaps evidence that the targeting of a specific individual with merchandise based on their surfing and blogging habits is already a reality?

ちょっとどうでもえぇ話やけど最近おっちゃんになって、髪の毛をのばしてみた。もうあまり何も言われないやろうと思ったけど逆にわけ分からないアダナが増えただけだ。ぴよぴよ君とかな。でもやっぱり外人同士が付けたのは一番きついかも…

…アメリカの有名なまずいMarshmallow Peeps。髪の毛にジェルをつけないとふわふわになっちゃうんで「ピープ(Peep)」と呼ばれてんねん。

最悪というか…一回ぐらい普通な髪型が欲しいねん！もうおっちゃんやでぇ！

またメーリスが遊びに来た！途中でルーカスとVivianneが消えてしまって、僕はベビーシッターになっちゃった。来てからずっっっと絵をかいていて、ちょっと退屈になったメーリスは堀江店の伝説なお面コレクションをだして遊びまくった。サダ子かタイガーマスクかどっちかよく分からんなぁ。

Apparently Red Bull doesn’t check to whom they have and haven’t given wings. Always happy to be the unlikely beneficiery of slackerism. Wataru did not want to part with the large novelty can.

レッドブルはまた来た！先週ぐらい訪問したばっかりのに…　でも大感謝している！今度のお姉ちゃんたちはちゃんと記録するかなぁ？でっかいアルミ缶はわたるさんの気に入りだった。

More gift art – this time from Doyle visiting Osaka from the states. You know, I still have tons of these in storage back in the states. I could make a book… or a collage… or a blog entry. Fuck, if I can get other people to do the job for me, maybe I could just stop drawing altogether. Why didn’t I think of this before?

大阪観光をやっている外国人のお客さんから絵を描いてくれた！こんなオーバーオールのギフトイラストは沢山集めている。まだアメリカの実家にもいっぱい残っているからそろそろ送ってもらうかなぁ。そして、画集を作ろうか？コラージを作ろうか？もしくは自分は引退して、ずっと描いてもらおうか？楽そうや！

今日、ヤンキーロリータちゃんが見学しにきた！ビール飲んだり、タバコ吸ったり、うんこ座りしたり、この二人によると、ひらひらな服を着ているのにタバコや酒もロリータちゃんの趣味に含まれている。一般なゴスロリは恥ずかしがりやじゃなくて、逆にタフや！やっぱり毎日、こんな姿をしてアメ村にまわったら、ガッツがないとな！下妻物語を見たら分かるとおもうで。

Yankee Lolitas! According to these beer swilling, tobacco smoking, tough-girl posturing young ladies, the frilly clothes are all a facade and that Lolitas are carved out of steel. I guess the typical lolita would have to be to walk around Amemura all day getting gawked at by fellow fashion aficionados. たまに写真家に声をかけられていて、撮影に参加させられている。全然かまわへんけど現像したら送ってねと必ず言う。今回は写真のプリントだけじゃなくて、Tシャツも持って来てくれた。でもよく見たらのっている写真は裸の俺や！恥ずかしいぃ！自分で着るのは可笑しい…っす…よね。おかんに送ろっか？

So as a heavily tattooed gaijin, often in drag, I get stopped for the occasional photo op. Usually I say yes in exchange for developed photos. This time, I was brought a T-shirt… featuring me. Naked. Wow… could this be something so embarrassing even a hard M like me couldn’t possibly wear it? I wonder if it would fit my mom…
