INKSPOT 1977から帰って来たとこ。アートやグラフ好きが多くてめっちゃえぇパーティやったわ。
Just got back from Ink Spot a few hours ago… the party raged all through the night. At some point I think every level of the downtown building was balls-to-butts with wall-art aficionados.

ギャラリー現場はすごい感じやった。コラボの新作、新しい材料の実験、作品になりかけDJブースも本当にイベントのプラスになっていた。
CASPER, JOTA, KE-1, ZYS were all in rare form at the reception. New collaborations, material experimentation, and even a DJ booth that doubled as an installation really punctuated an already talent-packed show.

お知らせ：先週、僕はやっとSLRのカメラをゲットしたんで色々実験して撮ってみたんだが…機会の動きに全然慣れていなくて上手く撮れなくて申し訳ないが。よろしキュ！
Full disclosure: I finally got an SLR this week so all these photos are the result of an amateur masquerading as a pro.

DJブースにダミーカメラが付いていて、ちゃんと動いていてえぇ雰囲気やった！
The DJ booth was fashioned out of pipes, corregated cardboard, and foliage to mimic a typical Osakan abandoned lot. Littered with tags and complete with a moving dummy camera – they really nailed it! The booth filled the whole rear of the room and really made the environment.

ピンストでHELLOシールを描いているのは初めてみたゎ！
When’s the last time you saw someone pin-stripe a “Hello, my name is” sticker?

They’re at it again – some of Japan’s finest graffiti virtuosos (All born in the same year – 1977!) are at it again featuring a two part gallery – Yokohama in the East and Osaka in the West! 4 amazing artists – a single generation:

For those of us fortunate enough to live in the Kansai region, the opening party is October 24th. Do I see a rooftop BBQ in our future? I sure as hell hope so!

お客さんの美容室のマーク、デザイン完成！CASPER文字、DEPASの絵、そして僕のレイアウト。
One of our clients just opened a new hair studio so we whipped up some identity for him. Casper on the fancy characters, Depas on the scissor drawing, and myself on fonts and layout.

Hey, for all y’all out there who love getting ‘celebrity’ tattoos – hope you remembered to record this program – they gave a nice play by play on the tattoos of fallen idol Noripi and her husband.

After the Graphite Show at Elixir last week I headed down to Rockets again after picking up this flyer for FUTURE REVOLUTION. Amazing hardcore (Masterpiece, UG Man and others)
先週のGRAPHITEの展示OPENが終わってからロケッツのHARDCOREイベントに行って来た。

There’s skateboarders flying in front of the stage, but this shakey photo was taken with an iphone in the dark under the influence of certain substances so you’ll have to take my word for it.
あまりこの写真には見えないけどスケボでステージの前でめっちゃワザをしている。

The air was sickly sweet with Belton fumes as this incredible collaboration piece by Casper, Depas, Dise, Espy, and Cook unfolded before our eyes.

Monk had his brushes on hand and whipped up this Hannya piece on the back of my iPhone. Sick!

His “Metallicaesque” signature is the ‘charm point’ of this piece!

That’s not all though, No Bondage was on hand doing live silk screening on whatever clothing item you wanted… and all I had was a kimono that I had to keep nice so I forked over for a shirt.
それだけちゃう。NO BONDAGEもライブシルクスクリーンをやっていた。着物だったんで別のシャツを買って写してくれた。

Graffiti Monsters ESOW and ESPY from Tokyo will be teaming up with DEPAS and CASPER from Osaka for another amazing art show!!! The live painting of the front shutter of the DownTown Building (Chopstick 1st Shop) will kick off the opening party. Work from all artists will be on display on the 2nd floor.

If you caught the ‘13th floor’ opening on Nagahori last winter then you already know the show is liable to take a few unexpected twists along the way. (Impromptu silk screening, lady-painting, black book swapping, and guest drunks just to name a few)

DJ Very will be keeping the beat topside while the artists work below.

The show opens August 20th – live painting starts after dark!

英語の情報ばっかりですみません！外人の客の為、ブログにのせとこうと思って。みんな、許してね！

If you haven’t already gotten the word, there is an art event coming up this month you have to check out! Only minutes away from the Chopstick Horie Shop on Nagahori Dori, Graffiti masters Esow of Tokyo and Casper of Osaka will be holding a joint gallery event on Saturday, December 22nd!

If you’ve spent any amount of time shopping around Minami you may already be inadvertantly familiar with Casper’s work. From CD covers, jackets, shirts and caps to full size shutters and maybe even your girlsfriend’s chest at a live painting event – Casper’s distinct and unique lettering style is everywhere! Both of these graf virtuosos will be combining forces to create an all new body of work here in Kansai’s own backyard!!

The reception party kicks off at 6:00 with DJs Very and TakeTHC on the 13th floor of the Ai Office Building (yeah, they do have 13th floors here! Directions below) – Come out and see Japanese subculture at it’s best through the eyes of Kansai and Kanto’s unique and highly evolved grafitti masters!

For those folks aborad or otherwise who can’t make it, the gallery will be on display for one month (Until Monday, January 22nd)

PremiereIIIのイベントは大成功だった！雨が降っている水曜日だったのに遊びにきてくれた人、有り難う！途中でお描きのルールが捨てられて、他のチョップ、としタトゥー、山栄のメンバーが入って参加してくれた。Bike ClubとClub Pureのおかげでなんとなくイベントの準備が出来た。本当に有り難う！

Premiere III was a great success – thanks to everybody who showed up on a rainy Wednesday! Magoshi, myself from Chop, Miyawaki from Toshi’s, and Casper and Dice from Sanei were all on deck for a 5 man collaborative painting event. Partway through, the rules went out the door and Wataru, Toshi, Nissako, and others grabbed paint, markers, beer, and joined in! Special thanks to Bike Club for putting together the event and to Club Pure for the location.
